September 12th news Riyadh Victory officially announced that defender Laporte will transfer to Athletic Bilbao.
When the transfer was close to being reached last week, Laporte was unable to register at Athletic Bilbao due to the failure to submit the transfer documents on time, and the transaction was almost broken.
Athletic Bilbao then chose to appeal to the Sports Arbitration Tribunal. The player registration issue has been resolved and FIFA has now approved Laporte's transfer.
Laporte is 31 years old and has played 30 games last season for Riyadh.
