ESPN: PFA wants Chelsea to provide normal training + play opportunities for Sterling and DiSassi

Football

Hupu September 18th According to ESPN, sources revealed that the Professional Football Players Association and Chelsea are negotiating about the Blues' way of treating Sterling and DiSassi.

It is reported that the two players have left the first team for separate training after being told that there is no future at Stamford Bridge.

30-year-old Sterling signed a five-year contract with Chelsea. He joined Chelsea from Manchester City for a transfer fee of £47.5 million in July 2022, becoming the first player to sign after the club's new owners Todd Burley and Qinghu Capital took over. There are two years left in the contract.

27-year-old DiSassi transferred from Monaco to Chelsea in August 2023 for £38.5 million, and signed a contract with the Blues in June 2029.

Both players were loaned out of the team last season, Sterling played 28 games for Arsenal last season, and Diessi played 10 times for Aston Villa.

Although Sterling and DiSassi were placed on the shelves by Chelsea this summer, neither of them had a successful transfer.

Both Naples and Bayern Munich had tried to sign Sterling, but the London-born player wanted to stay in the capital to accompany his family, the conditions offered by the two clubs at the time were not suitable for his choice.

But with Sterling and DiSassi still staying at Stamford Bridge after the transfer window closed on September 1, they also cannot return to coach Maresca's roster, and the two players can only train away from the first team.

It is reported that Chelsea Club and the Professional Football Players Association (PFA) are in talks, which hopes to ensure that the two players can train normally at the club's Cobham training base and get a chance to play.

Sterling and DiSassi have also been assigned special coaches to guide their training to ensure they can successfully leave Chelsea when the transfer window reopens in January next year.

When ESPN contacted Chelsea and the Professional Football Players Association (PFA), both sides declined to comment.
