Official: Almeida serves as Sevilla coach and has signed for three years
Official Announcement | Matthias Almeida serves as the club's new head coach and has signed for three years. Matthias Almeida played for us in the 1996/97 season. He will start his first La Liga journey in his coaching career in July.
Almeida's coaching resume spans the four-national league: he immediately took the coaching point after retirement in River Plate in 2011/12. During his coaching at Banfield from 2013 to 2015 (101 games), he created an upgrade miracle. He then moved to Guadalajara and San Jose earthquakes and landed in Europe after the earthquake, leading Athens AEK to win the 2022/23 Greek double championship in the first season, and won the league runner-up for two consecutive seasons (80 wins, 24 draws and 30 losses).
