Former coach: Isaac s mind is disturbed due to transfer rumors with Liverpool

July 21, former Newcastle coach Alan Padu talked about Isaac's future. Isaac was excluded by Eddie Howe in Newcastle's friendly match against the Celtics. Eddie Howe revealed that he had actually sent Isaac home from Scotland due to ongoing transfer rumors.

Last week, Liverpool informed Newcastle that they would be willing to offer Isaac if the other party changes its position of "non-selling products". But the Red Army then turned to Frankfurt to reach an agreement to sign Ekitic and intercept Newcastle's goal.

Alan Padu said: "Issack was obviously affected."

"Eddie How did it make a wise move, just to exclude him, and whether he was affected, we can guess. What I know is that it is wise move to exclude him."

"When players want to transfer and express it clearly with actions, this can cause problems."

"Is Issack's mind disturbed? I think it's possible, yes."

"So they are facing a fight now. I think Eddie Howe tried to downplay the rumors, but it won't go away until Liverpool finishes the deal."

When asked how he would handle this, Padu said: "It's up to you (the coach), you manage the locker room."

"You have to judge as you see. You will find that when a player is targeted by a bigger club, other players, especially senior players, usually stand on the side of that player."

"Whatever the club decides, they want career improvements, and they want bigger clubs."

"I don't think other players are too concerned about this Liverpool thing. They obviously want Isaac to stay, and they will think that one day this may happen to themselves, so they want to see the club treat the players correctly."

"You have to tell the players that they have a responsibility to play and not let him play for the moment so that everyone can find a delicate balance between finding a way to easily everyone."

Newcastle will head to Asia for a preseason tour later this week, and Isaac is expected to travel with the team.
