Thunder beat Nuggets to create the seventh largest score difference in NBA tiebreak, Yao Ming era Rockets lose 40 points to the Mavericks

Basketball

May 19th In the seventh game of the Western Conference semi-finals, the Thunder defeated the Nuggets 125-93 to meet with the Timberwolves led by Anthony Edwards in the Western Conference Finals.

Statistics show that the Thunder's 32-point victory today became the seventh largest score difference game in NBA history, and it is also the eighth tiebreak game in NBA history that ended with more than 30 points.

It is worth mentioning that the tiebreak victory of the largest score difference in NBA history belongs to the Dallas Mavericks (now the Mavericks). They defeated the Rockets 116-76 in 2005, winning a full 40 points. Yao Ming scored a game-high 33 points that day, but he and McGrady were the only two players in the Rockets who scored in double digits. On the Mavericks, Jason Terry led the team with 31 points.

Going back further, we have to go back to 1948, when the Philadelphia Warriors beat the St. Louis Bombers with 39 points in the tiebreak.

There is another interesting detail: The Suns and the Lakers are the only team that gave each other a 30+ point difference to win seven games. In 2006, the Suns defeated the Lakers with 31 points, and "aggravated a revenge" for their 35-point defeat in 1970.

The Thunders' victory today proves that if they have to face a key decisive battle in the future: they are not only capable of responding, but also capable of dominating the game.
