Rashford joins Barcelona on loan agreement, and goes to Camp Nou for a salary cut, Frick nods

According to authoritative sources, Barcelona Club has reached a preliminary agreement with Manchester United on the transfer of England striker Marcus Rashford, in the form of renting first and then buying. The player himself insisted on joining Barcelona throughout the summer window and has agreed to a significant salary cut.

Rashford can leave Manchester United this summer after ending a six-month loan period at Aston Villa. Despite the interest from other clubs, the England international has always regarded joining Barcelona as a top priority.

After continuous negotiations, the plan proposed by Barcelona was finally recognized by Manchester United. The core content is: Rashford will join Barcelona on loan for one season, and the contract includes mandatory or selective buyout clauses that can be activated next summer (the specific nature report is not clear). To meet Barcelona's salary structure requirements, Rashford agreed to significantly cut its weekly salary of more than £325,000. Fabrizio Romano, a well-known transfer reporter, has confirmed that the clubs of both sides have reached a comprehensive agreement. Manchester United's initial goal is to sell Rashford directly this summer and expect to receive about £40 million (about $53.7 million) in transfer fees. However, Rashford's strong willingness to join Barcelona and Barcelona's refusal to meet Manchester United's asking price eventually prompted Manchester United to change their strategy and accept the loan + buyout plan. At present, the transaction has entered its final stage. Barcelona's new coach Hans Flick has also given the green light to the transfer after communicating with Rashford.

Barcelona has been looking for a left winger in the transfer market this summer. They were close to signing Athletic Bilbao's Spanish international Nico Williams, but the latter unexpectedly rejected Barcelona's invitation. Liverpool's Colombia winger Luis Dias was also the target, but the Reds' refusal to negotiate made the deal impossible and the cost far exceeds Barcelona's budget. Rashford therefore became a key candidate for Barcelona to strengthen the left-wing attack line.
