August 17th News Premier League CEO Masters said that he would never tolerate any kind of insults from players.

Premier League CEO Richard Masters said in an interview with BBCRadio5Live: "No Premier League player should suffer such abuse in the workplace or on the Internet. We must constantly reiterate this position. We have provided support to Semeno, and everyone has done so."

"You can see that the relevant processing procedures have been strictly implemented and were in effect yesterday. When Semeno made it clear to the game officials what happened, referee Anthony Taylor suspended the game. He also spoke with coaches on both sides and contacted the security officials of the stadium directly. This allowed them to identify the person involved and take him out of the scene. As far as I know, this person has been detained by the police. This is how it should be handled."

Masters further emphasized: "This is a social problem, it penetrates the field of football, but it should not happen within the stadium or online. This forced football managers like me to think about what measures can be taken in the future to prevent such incidents from happening again."
