Marseille official: 24-year-old Manchester United former player Angel Gomez joins the league without a sign-free

July 5th Marseille officially announced that 24-year-old England midfielder Angel Gomez has been exempted from signing, and his contract with Lille has expired.

Angel Gomez was born in London but grew up in Salford, Manchester. He joined Manchester United's youth training camp at the age of 9 to receive professional training. Former Portugal international Nani is his idol.

Angel Gomez made his debut for Manchester United at the age of 16, 263 days, a match against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, which made him the youngest player to make his debut for Manchester United in 1953. Gomez has performed outstandingly in youth teams at all levels in England, winning the U17 and U21 European Youth Championships. On September 7, 2024, he made his debut against Ireland.
