Former German international player s Big Cross was fired by the sixth-level team, leading the team only scored two points in the first seven games

Hupu September 23: 37-year-old Groskreuz has lost his position as coach at the Sixth Division club SV Wacker Obercastrop. The club lost five of the first seven games of the season and ranked at the end of the list with only two points, so it made adjustments.

Club issued a statement on Tuesday saying: "After a sports-level analysis, the two sides decided to friendly cancel the existing contract. Therefore, the club's partnership with the coaching team composed of Groskreuitz and Jimmy Tim ended."

Groskreuitz played for clubs such as Dortmund and Stuttgart in his career. While at Dortmund, he won the Bundesliga twice and won a German Cup. In the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Groskreuz was selected for the German national team, but coach Lov did not arrange for him to play in seven games.

The Dortmund-born player ended his career in January 2021, but continued to play in the amateur league, joining Tus Bövinghausen. In mid-2023, he transferred to Wacher Obeccastrop as a player and started serving as an assistant coach in October 2024, and has become an official member of the coaching team since May 2025.
