Hungary loses and misses the World Cup.

Ireland situation:

If Ireland defeats Hungary and Portugal does not lose, the Republic of Ireland will advance to the play-offs as second in the group. If Ireland defeats Hungary and Portugal loses, the two teams will be based on goal difference, total goals and mutual record (Ireland has the advantage), and Ireland will advance to the World Cup first in the group.

If Ireland draws or loses, they will miss the World Cup.
