Basically confirmed to stay in the team! Barcelona official: Ter Stegen will undergo a second lumbar spine surgery next week
July 25th Barcelona officially confirmed that 33-year-old goalkeeper Ter Stegen will undergo a second spinal surgery next week.
In an official statement, Barcelona revealed that Ter Stegen will undergo a second surgery next week (i.e., subsequent repair surgery at the affected area) to solve his lumbar problem. The operation will be conducted again by Dr. Amelle Leglis at the Merinac Sports Clinic in Bordeaux, under the supervision of the club's medical team. Barcelona will issue a new medical statement after the operation is completed.
Telstegen only played 9 games for Barcelona last season due to injury. Barcelona had previously hoped that he could leave the team this summer, but was firmly rejected by the Lions. According to previous news, Teshi was expected to be out of the team for three months after the operation, which also means that Teli Stegen will continue to stay at the team at least after the summer window.
