Asian Squash Youth Individual Championship Women s U13 Yin Ziyuan wins the championship and creates history

On July 5, the 32nd Asian Youth Individual Squash Championship ended in Jinquan, South Korea. In the women's U13 group competition, Chinese player Yin Ziyuan defeated Pakistani player 3-2 to win the championship in the group, and also created the best results for Chinese players in international competitions.

As the highest level of youth squash event in Asia, this competition attracted 236 youth squash players from 17 countries and regions to participate. This competition is divided into eight groups: men's and women's U13, U15, U17 and U19. The Chinese team sent 10 athletes, Liu Yuanxi, Yin Ziyuan, Tang Chenjie, Zhu Xuanyi, Zhang Yaqi, Yang Nirui, Liang Haocong, Chen Haisong, Cheng Linglu and Zhang Yuning, to participate in the competition in the six groups: U13, U17 and U19.

This event ranked based on athlete points and entered the knockout round directly. Chinese players Liu Yuanxi and Yin Ziyuan competed in the men's and women's U13 group with the No. 2 seed. In the U13 women's group competition, Yin Ziyuan defeated South Korea and Singapore players two 3-0 respectively and successfully advanced to the quarterfinals. Then, Yin Ziyuan defeated the Malaysian player 3-1 and advanced to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, Yin Ziyuan easily defeated the Hong Kong player in China 3-0 and advanced to the finals.

In the final, after Yin Ziyuan lost to the Pakistani player 9-11 in the first game, she quickly adjusted her state and overtook her two consecutive games 11-6 and 11-9. In the fourth game, the Pakistani player won another game 9-11 and tied 2-2. In the final, the two sides fought for several rounds, and Yin Ziyuan finally won the victory 12-10 and defeated her opponent 3-2 in total to win the championship in the group. At the same time, this is also the best result achieved by Chinese players in international competitions. After the game, Yin Ziyuan said: "Because I have never won an opponent, this championship means a lot to me, which is also the best affirmation for me in training squash. I hope I can win glory for the country in higher-level competitions in the future."

Liu Yuanxi won the third place in the U13 men's group.
