Ujeri was fired when he finalized the draft list for the first time in history, requesting to postpone it after the draft

Basketball

June 28th News Today, Marseille Ujeri no longer serves as vice chairman of the Toronto Raptors and president of basketball operations.

According to reporter Evan Sidery, Ujerry asked the Raptors' new boss to postpone his sacking time until after the 2025 NBA Draft, and the boss agreed to the request.

Interestingly, when Ujerry knew he was about to be fired, he was finalizing the 9th pick shortlist for the team, including Colin Murray Boyles.

Evan Sidery finally wrote: "This is probably the first time in history."

Ujeri is 54 years old. In May 2013, he signed a five-year, $15 million contract with the Raptors. He replaced Colangelo as the executive vice president and general manager of the Raptors. In 2017, Ujeri was promoted to President of Raptors Basketball Affairs Operations. In 2018, Ujeri used assets such as DeRozan + Pelter + first-round picks to exchange for Kawhi Leonard (at the time when the contract was only one year left) and Danny Green, helping the team win the first championship in the history that season.
