Ferdinand: I don t recommend Manchester United s signing of Cesco, it s smarter to invest in Brighton midfielder Baleba

July 25th, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand advised Manchester United not to sign Leipzig striker Cesco, and believed that it would be wiser to invest in Brighton midfielder Baleba.

22-year-old Sesco has attracted the interest of many top clubs this summer, and it is reported that he may transfer to Old Trafford. However, Manchester United had serious goals last season, with Hoylen and Zilkerze only scoring 7 goals in the Premier League, resulting in the team's final finish with 15th place, setting the worst record in history.

Ferdinand also suggested that Aston Villa striker Watkins is an option with experience in the Premier League. However, the former England international also said that if he could not sign a striker, he would rather spend his money in the midfield position.

"If there is no suitable striker, I will choose a midfielder. There is only one person I think of, and that is Baleba. He has excellent physical fitness, can drive the ball, has strong tactical awareness, is full of vitality, and has experience in the Premier League."

Baleba joined Brighton from Lille in 2023 with a transfer fee of about £26 million, and made 34 appearances for the team last season, showing great potential and development prospects.
