Nuggets sign the planners to change!

According to European basketball media BasketNews sources, Valanciunas is considering accepting an invitation from the Greek club Panasinakos to prepare to end his NBA career. According to reports, the 33-year-old Lithuanian player is close to accepting a three-year contract with a net salary of nearly 12 million euros (about 13 million US dollars) from the Greek giant.

Marc Stein followed up with the report that league sources confirmed that the temptation to return to Europe still had a strong appeal to Valanciunas, which could prompt him to seek a buyout of his NBA contract to join Panasinacos. This decision will disrupt the Nuggets' previous plan of signings that seemed to be promising.

Valanciunas' current NBA contract is only guaranteed until the 2025-26 season, and the Nuggets will pay him a salary of $10.4 million that season. The contract also includes a $10 million team option for the 2026-27 season, and the Nuggets can decide whether to execute it next summer.

The Kings had previously traded Valancius to the Nuggets and exchanged for Sharic. Valancius was initially satisfied with coming to the Nuggets, believing it was an opportunity to contribute to the rotation of the championship team. It is reported that the deal between the King and the Nuggets cannot be officially completed until Sunday, and the King urgently needs the deal to be implemented due to salary space considerations.

But Panasinakos' offer offers different opportunities—long-term and stable contracts, core roles, and a team that is determined to win the UEFA Champions League.

Valanciunas played in the NBA for 13 seasons, playing for the Raptors, Grizzlies, Pelicans, Wizards and Kings. He averaged 25 minutes of his career, contributing 13.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
