Funny, Timberwolves Gobert says Edwards scoring dilemma is overrated: I think he s great

Minnesota Timberwolves inside player Rudy Gobert doesn't think Anthony Edwards was bad in Game 4.

Minnesota Timberwolves are currently preparing for Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, against the Oklahoma City Thunder. In Game 4 Monday night, the Timberwolves lost 1-3, while superstar Anthony Edwards was restricted by the Oklahoma City Thunder in that game, scoring only 16 points.

From that start, it was obvious that the Thunder wouldn't give Edwards the shooting space he enjoyed when he dominated the third game, so the star played more of the play as a playmaker early in the fourth game, until it took a few minutes to make his first move.

Before Game 5, Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert candidly explain why he thinks Edwards has had a lot more impact on the game than his statistics.

"I think he's great... A lot of people think basketball is just about 30 points a night, which is not true," said Gobert, Dave McMenaming of ESPN on X (formerly Twitter).

In fact, Edwards showed a willingness to play the role of organizer on Monday, and for the most part, his efforts worked. The Timberwolves scored an impressive 126 points against the backdrop of the NBA's best defense; instead, the Minnesota Timberwolves failed to successfully stop their opponents from attacking or grabbing defensive rebounds, and ended up losing in Game 4. The Timberwolves are now facing a difficult task: they must win three games in a row to advance to the series, two of which will be played away in one of the worst games in the NBA. The Thunder have previously proven that they have the ability to reverse a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference Finals, but the Timberwolves have to play better, especially in defense and rebounding, to drag the series into Game 6 and return to Minnesota. The fifth game will be held at 8:30 pm ET in Oklahoma City, where ESPN will broadcast nationwide. If Game 6 is played, it will be held Friday night.
