Durant: To sign a contract with yourself, you must not rely on one or two things to become a great player

Basketball

July 9th, today, Lakers forward James' podcast program "The Brain of the Field" aired the latest episode of the second season. Durant is the guest of the program in this episode, and Nash continues to serve as the host. On the show, Durant talked about how to be a great player:

"If you want to be a good basketball player, you must not just rely on one or two things. If you want to be a great basketball player, you need to do much more than that.

To fully tap your potential, there are so many things that you need to absorb and understand. In my opinion, research is a crucial part of being a great player.

Who are you listening to analyzing the game?

What are you studying?

How do you analyze game videos?

Do you study old players in the past, dig out what they did, and understand the path they opened for your basketball?

Do you be yourself?

When you watch videos, are you doing yourself Have a clear and true perception? After the game is over, are you responsible for your performance?

Every time you make progress as a player, I really feel that you have signed a contract again. Just like me, you know, after I played for 10 years, 12 years, won 4 MVPs and 4 championships (actually 1 MVP + 2 FMVP& two-time championship), I still ask myself: Do I still want to play basketball?

Some people say I want to play baseball, and then I come back to play basketball. Some people say I want to play 22 consecutive seasons. So I think people need to sign a contract with themselves, in order to become a great player, to have a long career, that is the goal.

To achieve these goals, you must first make a new promise to yourself."
